The Edmonton River Valley on a bright day with fluffy clouds and green grass and trees.

My Commitments to the Campaign

I want to show Edmontonians that I am rooted in community and so is this campaign. These commitments are specific to how I operate.

My Commitments to Ward Sipiwiyniwak

I have called Ward Sipiwiyniwak home for 8 years. I look forward to talking to more constituents so I can commit to a plan that we all can get behind.

My Commitments to the City

Edmonton deserves servant-leaders that can advocate for everyone. I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive and accessible city for all.

Candidate-Specific Commitments

Transparency and Integrity

  • All donations will be disclosed publicly on the campaign website throughout the entire campaign, so voters are aware of the supporters of the campaign.
  • I will be running as an independent candidate, with no partnerships with PACs, third party advertisers, or slates, either official or unofficial.

Hands-On Engagement

  • I will be visible and easily accessible to constituents by doing the following:
    • Publish regular e-newsletters and social media posts on various city matters and updates relevant to constituents.
    • Will respond to messages promptly and be accessible online or offline.
    • Attend community meetings, annual general meetings and events.
    • Host in-person town halls and online engagement sessions on a regular basis and in a variety of formats to ensure accessibility and inclusion.

Commitments to Ward Sipiwiyniwak

Support Local, Support Neighbourhoods

From community leagues and local parks to the small businesses neighbourhood strip malls, sidewalks and alleys, I will advocate ensuring that city policies and programs continue to be in place to ensure the best quality of life that Edmontonians can have in their neighbourhood as we form 15-minute neighbourhoods and city districts as outlined in the latest City Plan.

Note: This section will be filled in more detail as canvassing and research is conducted during the campaign launch. The ward is quite diverse, from mature neighbourhoods to areas under development with hardly any housing. Future engagement will help craft a platform that is by the people, for the people.

City-Wide Commitments

Fiscal Management and Economic Recovery

Recovery from the impacts of COVID19 is a priority. I will advocate for strategic densification to mitigate the costs of urban sprawl, and ensure responsible spending of tax revenue to maximize the impact of our current funding sources.

Transportation infrastructure and Public Transit

As someone who cannot drive, who take transit and walk to navigate the city, I will advocate for reliable and ongoing expansion of our transit routes, the west LRT, and ensuring all sidewalks, roads and structures work for everyone who walk, bike, drive and roll to get around.

Policing

Police review is overdue and I will advocate to ensure proper overhaul of the process to ensure that all Edmontonians truly feel safe and supported by the police, from newcomers, BIPOC individuals, the homeless, sexual assault survivors, and more.

Inclusive and Accessible City

Both through policy and the way I conduct my work as an elected representative, I will ensure that all Edmontonians, regardless of language, age, income level, disability, and background are able to fully benefit from the programs, services and infrastructure the city sets up.

Environmental Stewardship

I will fight for the protection of the River Valley natural system. I will also support initiatives to help address issues on waste management to reduce our environmental impact.
